A. R. Rahman(Golden Globe for Slumdog)

Bollywood's A.R. Rahman won a Golden Globe for his score in Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionaire" on Sunday, becoming the first Indian composer to strike gold at the annual Hollywood awards.
"Slumdog," which tells of a young man looking for love and competing for money on the Indian version of the television game show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", also earned three other Golden Globes including best film drama.
Rahman, 43, had also been named best composer at the Critics' Choice Awards in Los Angeles in Jan.
Known for his musical versatility -- from romantic compositions to foot-tapping numbers, Rahman has innovated with different instruments and sounds to create some of India's best-known musical hits for nearly two decades.
Despite earlier international credits such as the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical "Bombay Dreams", it is Rahman's work on British director Danny Boyle's "Slumdog" that endeared him to Western critics.
The Golden Globe Awards are given out by some 90 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. They are closely watched for clues as to which films might vie for Oscars, the world's top movie awards given out in February by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

youth of India Ankit Fadia

Ankit Fadia, the ethical hacker, is MTV India's Youth Icon 2008!

A child genius, he's a cyber security Guru at the age when most people have graduated. Ankit Fadia started hacking at the age of 12 when he was gifted a new computer by his parents. He soon became an expert with it and started his own site giving tutorials. This was an instant success and got as many as 40,000 registered members. His first hack was at the age of 13 on the Chip India magazine website. For 2 days anyone who went on the website saw his photo. On the 3rd day he sent Chip and e-mail telling them their problems and how to fix them for fear of being thrown in jail by them. Instead the magazine offered him a job. The success of his website and his expertise in hacking encouraged him to write a book on hacking. The tutorials were compiled into a book, when he was 14. Little did he know that this book would become a worldwide bestseller having sold millions of copies. His books were soon translated into several languages and outsourced to the U.S. He then realized that his passion for hacking can be turned into a profitable business. Although Ankit now moved to the other side of law; i.e. from unethical hacking to ethical hacking. He was contacted by private agencies in US and assisted one of them in decoding an Al Qaeda mail after the /11 attacks. Fadia was successful in that assignment.

Youth

The youth of today is the driving force of tomorrow. It has some responsibility towards its country, which it must acknowledge and practice. Instead of blaming the system, youth should come together and mould the nation for a better tomorrow..
Youth should stand against all the wrong doings in the country. Instead of blaming the system, young India should come together and with their toil should mould our nation for a better tomorrow. We, the youth should use our brains, strength, creativity and imagination to serve our nation. Instead of asking, "Who’s going to fight the corruption?," we should do it ourselves. Rather than fighting upon the issues and ruining the country, we should learn to develop it.

I salute all those youths of the past who made an effort to make a difference.

We need to learn from yesterday and live with hopes for a better tomorrow. So we have to do our bit for the nation and be the change that we have always wanted.
